Pedro's CopyPasta//Rambling 2

From some deep, dark corner in the back of jaalin’s mind…

Anime girls are the best. Unlike those found in 3d-land, anime girls were created for the sole purpose of entertaining me – decades in the making, the science of creating an anime girl has been perfected down to the little personality quirks, the glimmer in their eyes, and the nuances in their voice (Aisia lisp, anyone?) I thank these character designers from the bottom of my heart, cuz man oh man do they do their job well.

In most cases, anime girls are perfect. Understanding that “perfect” has many interpretations as the modern anime girl is assembled from a plethora of desirable traits, the one aspect that rarely varies is the shape of their body. Sure, there are differences in height and cup size, but for the most part, there is a singular template on which all bodies are constructed from.

You know my favorite part of it? It’s not the stunning neckline or the way clothes hang so lustfully off the bosom, nor their sculpted stomachs or their itty bitty waist. Those are all fantastic, but they all pale in comparison to none other than:

The ankles. Goddamn, anime chicks have the best freakin ankles.

Remember that that one scene in Densha Otoko where they go to Miina’s fan session, and Matsunaga-shi kept screaming for Miina to show her ankles? I thought that was the weirdest thing, but it kinda makes sense now. Kinda.

Why ankles?

For starters, it’s not something that’s in the common list of attractive traits, but when you ask specifically, most people would come to a consensus on an attractive ankle. It is, after all, the area where the long, shapely legs meet the petite, delicate foot – quite a special area that holds very little sexual appeal and yet is a crucial component of an attractive character. Without the ankles, you can’t have sexy legs!

For example, take that pic of Nagi. Normally known for her loli appeal, this pic makes her out to be so much more. Sure, most of the attention is on the place that allows our imagination to run, but it’s those ankles that are right there and complete the look. They are, fundamentally, what give those spectacular legs their slender shape.

Anime ankle science takes this a step further – custom-fit shoes. Notice how Nagi’s shoes have a strap right above the ankle? While not absolutely necessary, this plays an important role in accentuating the slenderness of the ankle by essentially having it squeeze through something. Another great example of this is seen on Mashiro-hime, another character not typically associated with sexual appeal, but oh man does she have hot legs in that pic. And it’s all due to the slender achilles area bringing out the supple shape of the calf area. Even Nia-sweetie with all the attention on her eyes and hair, sports a pair of shoes complete with ankle strap. And don’t forget Aoi-chan in the only time we’ve seen her wearing something other than that adorable kimono - never mind that she’s only got 4 toes (oh shi-?)

One more piece of evidence comes from Geass, where Villetta is flashing her own breathtaking set. As amazing as they look, don’t they seem to pale in comparison to the other examples above? In comparison, Villetta’s legs look unnaturally straight, unrealistic, and while extremely long, rather unshapely.

The Anklet Hypothesis can also apply to wrists, as so brilliantly demonstrated by Tsukasa in this pic. Doesn’t her arm look so much more slender with that bracelet?

So there you have it, my attempt at turning an ankle fetish into a science. Sounds like some bastardized male version of Lucky Star…

-jaalin

He's got hell of a problem, but pedro approves. What's a man without desire? What's life without ankles!? Whats up with this fetish of pedro's?!?!? Let's leave it at that. Post from Random Curiosity. Be careful next time pedro stares at your feet, your wrist, or your collarbones.

On a side note, the whole class has got to do the forfeits for literature in the form of homework. It's on the lit website, under 'The Gaze', for the Wheelchair Assassins, cause we lost the bloodbath. For the Howling Fantods, you'll have to do the followup on the Mrs Mallard passage. *EDITED*

Pedro's Big Bad Ramble...1

DON'T YOU DARE GIMME A 'C' FOR MY O' LVL ART!!!!

well, so much for that, i got the big c6 for it. my teacher said it wuz coz' of my choice of 'style'. The stylistiks just don't follow the way you want to portra your godlike idea or the inspiration that has flooded into your head seconds ago. Which leads me to think...

-Pedro wants to know why art has to be liked and disliked. freedom please.
-Pedro does not know why despite this he is biased against some forms of art.
-Pedro wants to know how art is graded. How can it? Seriously...
-Pedro wants to know why ankles are sooo sexy.

So here goes with the supermassive ramble....

What the heck is with 'pushing the boundaries' of art if you have bias agaist some styles of it? I may sound like a hypocrite, but it's true. Some of us shoot down genres of music//drama//dance//art in general// because we just don't like it, and give our reasons. But that doesn't mean art is not equal to freedom of thought. A radical piece which subverts and addresses issues people deem dangerous or uses styles that are not widely accepted is still art, regardless of the criticism it receives....

I pose this question.

Iz dis art!?Looks like a math diagram, doesn't it? Avante garde (USSR) smashing the white population (USA) with a red wedge.

Looks like some random brush strokes, yeah?

These are avant-garde pieces: Radical Russian Art, as the Brits sometimes call it. And it is in some places (especially Britain), not recognized as art. So much for the wonder artsy society they have. We can then see that art is published as a very big action. A call to the world and society for a stronge message. Freedom for expression is given, but appreciation is a differing matter altogether. There're many more movements such as the rennaissance, expressionism and cubism, but the same concept applies, though they are less criticized.

e.g. this is more approved of.

Roy Lichenstein's pop art. Kinda like marvel comics? Stylistik and funky.

Much more to think about the free flow and expression of ideas. The newer generation though, is opening up to all these weeeeird genres (and more) that i may (or may not) have addressed. So let's have a mix between pop art, avant-garde, abstract styles, and independant rock!

(Take Me Out : Franz Ferdinand)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZGcw9HHOkU

Finally, Pedro's ramble on ankles will be out next week. Stay hip and funky people! 3709 is a sporting bunch as seen from today, so let's stay that way!

Cheers and lotsa love to sombreros.

Pedro's rambling.

Heya all.

It's me, the one commonly known as pedro.
feeling random, i was thinking of something to do, to bring out all kinds of weird ideas about modern art and to just express my love and hate for some forms of art//or what you might perceive as art. think of it as a form of low-art -appreciation or a failed literature lesson. I'll only post about once a week so as to prevent cluttering up our reminders and homework notices...I'll try to keep it really open and random, or things we can relate to, which we commonly provide jabberwocky about in school, just to add a little life on the blog apart from homework and reminders to bring a particular consent form you'd definitely forget to bring tomorrow and just happen to forget and leave on your bedside ust to step on it or crush it in the morn-.
Oops. Rambling aldy.

Do you mind? If you do i'd better not ramble. D= . Seriously.

we have found the ava rep..
thanks, VINCENT :)

TIMETABLE :)

I logged on to SchoolBuzz lately, and under the 'Timetable' section, there was a new timetable for all of us. However, I don't think there's much of a difference from the old one. In fact, I don't think there's a difference in time slots at all :/ What a waste of database space.

So, these are the stuff that we have to hand in tmrw:

* GP (Please, please, please remember that there are SIX articles in TOTAL. NOT FOUR.)
* Hist (T4)
*Math (Quiz.)
*Lit (Page 21 of Miss Toh's reading package.)

That's all we need to hand in for tmrw. Econs comes later.

ava rep.BDAY.GP

Everyone! So far, no one wants to be the AVA Rep. Please just... like.. VOLUNTEER yourself?
but, no, i'm not forcing anyone.
BUT... please la... why so pathetic..... -.-
it'd be fun and quite slack to be an AVA Rep! :D trrrrrruuusssstttt meeee..
LOL.

Anyways..
21 March is Chuanen's birthday..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHUANEN!
XD

My personal suggestion for GP.
in case you all don't know, blurblur, then here it is:
do it on a foolscap paper, following the template from the page9 of the admin guidebook.
the template page on page9 will be used in our future work, too, i have a feeling.
so, don't do it there. PLUS, there won't be enough space there, trust me.

AVA Rep Needed

Hey guys, Yihao here.
The marketing committee of the 25th students’ council is organizing an AVA training program, to equip AVA representatives from each PDG with basic AVA skills. This is to better facilitate lessons that needs AVA support such as the projector, visualizer and the sound system. The training will be conducted on Tuesday (31/3), Thursday (2/4) and Friday (3/4)
We need to nominate one person who is willing to put himself or herself to the regular risk of electrocution. I would suppose such an individual would either have to be quite brave or well, made out of rubber. The following are the timing for the training sessions.

Date

Session 1

Session 2

31/3

3.30-4.30

5.00-6.00

2/4

1.30-2.30

3.00-4.00

3/4

2.30-3.30

3.30-4.30

Our AVA rep would have to attend one session for each of those dates if I'm not wrong (Not clear in the original email, will clarify).

If you're interested, shoot me a msg online or to my number.

Do note that the deadline for this nomination is next Tuesday (23/3). We are "encouraged to register representatives as soon as possible", so make of that what you will.

Thanks, and enjoy the rest of your holidays.

ok. tie boy here. updated list of goings and not-goings(bad people.)

Going:
Adeline
Anna
VEish
Vincent
Titus
Melissa
Hanxu
Yiling
Shahidah
Liang Eee (at night)
Bryan (at night)
Jason
Tie-Boy
Rachel
Zuhaili
Evelyn
Shalini

Not Going:
Yihao
Pang Yi
Cai Feng
Penelope
Chuan En
Yin Wei

Tie-Boy cries because more people cannot make it. it is an elastic demand as while we have a small profit (shalini is going), we have a greater loss (chuan en, penelope and yinwei)... -sighs-

Tie-Boy cries because there is alot of homework and thus, we should probably designate a mug-fest, for us to finish our homework together. Shalini and Vincent and Zuhaili and other muggerish people are supposed to designate a day to mug. While Tie-Boy hates mugging, he shall try his best to make it for it is a class outing. Somewhat. Pffft.

Tie-Boy cries because Bike Rally wasn't fun. The overnight stay was very fun! But the Bike Rally itself wasn't. :/ What to expect? Tie-boy laments, CIP leh.

Tie-Boy cries because holidays are packed and there is no time for him to sleep late...

Tie-Boy cries because girls like to bully him.

But, Tie-Boy is happy. Why?

Because we no need to wear tie on wednesday! :D

GP Homework! Yay!

Hey guys. Shali here. These are the GP homework assignments for the *ehem* holidays. BTW, to those who haven't, please read the posts below mine as well, cuz they're important.

Anyway, moving on. GP hw is basically to read one article on Education and Crime (one for each category, mind you) and reflect on the piece of paper on page 9 of Gippy Times. Don't cram info on ALL articles onto one piece of paper, but please, photocopy it!

So, here it goes (Articles found in Directed Reading Package):

Adeline, Jason, Han Xu - School Daze, The Morality of Capital Punishment.
Liang Ee, Yi Hao, Melissa - The Problem with Mass Education, Beyond the Death Penalty Debate
Shalini, Pang Yi, Rachel - Why School is bad for Kids, U.N. Moratorium on Capital Punishment
Shahidah, Vincent, Cai Feng - Lessons from Singapore, Law and Culture
Eve, Zuzu, Vaish - School Daze, Policing the Virtual World
Chuan, Gran, YiLing, Titus - The Problem with Mass Education, Penal Code Amendments
Penny, Anna, Yin Wei, Bryan - Why School is Bad for Kids, Project Syndicate - Legislating History

OK. The assignation is in NO order. Just random picking. However, that's not the ONLY piece of homework that we have.

Under the topics of Crime and Education we are supposed to look up another TWO articles and complete the 'REFLECTIONS' paper( Gippy Times - Page9) , and hand it in to her. Two articles in each category. So that makes, overall, 3 articles for Crime and 3 articles for Education. Please have it done by the first GP lesson once school starts!

Thanks. If there're any questions, give me a ring :)

Also, mentors from Citibank and YMCA will advice, guide and provide project management supervision to the 100 groups thoroughout the duration of their projects from 18 May to 6 September 2009. A recognition scheme will be in place to give out Best Team Awards to outstanding teams in three different age categories.

outing to NYP

Today's outing to NYP was cool! 2-hour break is just A.W.E.S.O.M.E!
Yeah, some of us were so amazed by the greatness of the NYP building, which caused us to look down on our not-in-a-very-good-condition school building.
Toilets were like those in shopping malls.
Food were nice, and the modern-looking canteen was clean.
Oh.. what a school to be in.

And, these are some of the photos taken during our lunch at NYP :D

sadly, Yin Wei's not in the pic.. :(
