Hi all!
Just to recap the Lit announcements:
1) Paper 1 Assignment:
Compare and contrast Emerging by R.S. Thomas with I Wake And Feel The Fell Of Dark, Not Day by G.M. Hopkins. Consider carefully the way religion is presented through each poet's language, form and style.
DEADLINE: end of this week (noon, Friday 17 April).
2) Pair Presentation
- begins T2W5 (next week! *gasp*); WILL be graded
- After each presentation, each pair will work on feedback given and submit ONE written essay on the pair of poems presented (it's pair work, and marks will be given. It also counts towards the term's assignment quota.)
TO DO:
- form pairs and sign up for poems by end of this week. I have the sign-up sheet (with the list of poems) so do approach me about this. The ones who sign up for the Week 5 poems MUST begin their work on the presentation.
- Prepare your presentation offline and prepare notes / templates for presentation.
- Make a copy of your presentation notes for the whole class!
3) Remedial
The people who are down for remedial beginning this Friday are Yiling, Rachel, Anna, Vaish, Bryan, Pang Yi and Zuhaili. The first four are to go for the 12.15pm slot while the remaining three go for the 1.15pm slot. (And boys, there'll be someone from another class in your slot; make sure to involve her in the discussions, if any.) Remember: attendance will be taken.
4) Supplementary lessons
In Week 5 and 7; venue to be determined. All who scored 8 or 9 or below for the Forsaken Wife assignment are to attend; the invitation is open to others as well. The focus is on issues relating to Women in Literature for the tutorial passages done in class.
- Passages for Week 5: The Forsaken Wife, Emily of Emerald Hill
- Passages for Week 7: Girl, The Story of an Hour
Yep, that's about it. Please bear these in mind ^_^
See you in school tomorrow!
Penny
P.S. On another note, I just changed the time zone settings for the blog, so now it's in Singapore time :)
