HEY YOU CRAZY KIDS!

Been a long time since Pedro posted on the class blog. Today got something really crazy to say. don't you dare 'bleh' me and read to the screwin' end.

Ok, it's about Stagewerks (refusal to spell with the AJ like 'stAJe') dammit! We're having an unpcoming production next week and the response from the J1s are like...not awesome. I'd like the request for the class to show some support! Come on, if you can go support ACSian Theatre i think you can support AJcian Theatre itself =D? No offense intended though.

Tickets are going at 18 lolers each, and they're open for 15th and 16th may (FRI and SAT respectively). The show has free seating, and should start at 8:00pm on both nights, and last for an hour and a quarter. Orders close on Wednesday. Order thru me or Rachel!

Yeah, so support! Rachel's acting, i'm on crew duty! Everyone, in cast or audience is gonna have alot of fun!

ANDERSON JUNIOR COLLEGE, WHERE ARE MY RIGHTS?

I paid $1 for this tiny insignificant plastic "ear cap"(which are in great supply; no scarcity what-so-ever) AND a slip of paper which had my temperature written on. What's infuriating is that they threw my expensive plastic ear cap away!! WITHOUT asking me. AND I was the one who paid for it. Ain't fair right???

Stupid swine flu. I hope you go extinct soon.

Re: PW, miscellaneous

This. Is. Revenge. For. Not. Signing. The. Petition.

For the clueless, this is MISS LXL's favourite monkey.

PW
You should have received a copy of the template today. There's a soft copy of it available on IVLE. You "MUST fill up this template using (your) existing PI before coming for consultations This is to ensure (you) have tried to think through (your) ideas, & the links between (your) ideas as well."

Another thing. Please ATTEMPT to hand in your THIRD drafts by TUESDAY (280409). Do try to hand in on MONDAY if possible though.

Also, for those who signed up for (new) consultations with MISS LEE, you are encouraged to come with a "fourth" draft. She will NOT mark it, but she can give you opinions on it DURING the consultation. For those who have yet to sign up for a PW date with her, please do so ASAP.

Lastly, there's this copy of "GROUP PROJECT PROPOSAL LECTURE PPT" with me. If you want it, I can photocopy it for you, but it's NOT FREE. I'll scan a copy of it and upload it here ASAP when I have found the software to install my scanner. If not, I'll pass it around on Monday. Please pass me your order on Monday too.

Anyway, congratulations to the FIVE (Han Xu, Chuan En, Penelope, Liang Ee, Titus) mentioned names whom MISS LEE praised.... Heehee. So, can you help those who need help? PLEEEEZE?? Thank you!! : D

MISCELLANEOUS
Anyway, I'd like to de-generalise the population here. Partly for the sake of those Unheards who prefer to keep their opinions to themselves or only share them during private chit-chat sessions. I believe MOST of us have worked hard and tried our best -- school-wise, during PE, sleep-wise, diet-wise, etc-- that some have worked especially hard these few days (it's like we are preparing for O Levels, that's my opinion anyway.)
Some slept at 2am. Some woke up at 4am to work.
Maybe the results are not what they should have been, but most importantly, we have tried (been there, done that). And we shall learn from our mistakes or from wherever (that's why we study History: to learn from another person's mistakes, but in our case, we are studying idiotic idiots of the past. Hehh Ms Ng, don't kill me. I just have personal grudges against those amazing leaders. And it also shows I have been paying attention during your lessons. HEEHEEEHEEE). With imperfections come greater enjoyment and relish as we achieve success in the future. And maybe we are still adapting to this new life. So, there. Lets not give up or be discouraged by any undesirable results. No personal attack here on anyone by the way. I'm a SUPER NICE monkey horr.

Anyway, darlings, keep holding on. Love that song.

Also, 3709 would like to thank MS NG, MISS LEE sr, MR TAN, MS USHA, MS ZOBEL, MS TOH, MS LIM, the Chinese and Malay teachers for their effort, love, concern, praises, encouragement and food. THANK YOU! <3 (this is done on the behalf of 3709. Anything offending or inappropriate, I apologise.) YAYYY!

She is mine by the way. You gotta catch up with me. heeheehahah.. private joke anyway. gotta stop writing. i have this assumption that this is my own blog. hmmm feel free to edit this post under your name. not mine or my monkey's. delete it if it's offending.

Fallen, but
Faith
Fixed it.

Love,
the Underpaid student

hah. as compared to those people below me, i bear good news!

i'm proposing a class outing during the holidays, to go Shalini's house for a BARBEQUE. it'll be fun! the details will follow soon after, but please support the idea! soooooooooooooooooo long since we had a class outing! unacceptable! must go ah!

In response to the prep-talk the teachers gave us through the class leaders, i feel bad. ):

i haven't been doing my work... and i feel that the teachers were right. we should work harder.

but our class also rocks and is unique cos we're a bunch of slackers :P

so we should strike a balance! work hard, but play just as hard!

i dont know why I'M saying this. so hypocrite. ai yoh. guess i'd have to work harder too... bleagh.

tie-boy...hees!

PW

Heehee..

MISS LEE jr here. This is what's happening:

1.EVERYONE has to do a third draft. Submit by the following MONDAY or TUESDAY.
2. Please try to book a slot with MISS LEE XUE LING. Each group must have at least TWO people. It'll be an one-hour slot. We must all see her at least once. Those who have seen her can also sign up again.

3. I'll repeat what we were supposed to do this morning:
Work on critiquing each other's PI. Focus on (i) explicitly linking features of part eg to lessons learnt. Lessons MUST be drawn from key features. (ii) developing INSIGHTFUL strategies. When applying lesson learnt to the new eg, must have concrete details.

Hopefully, ALL of us will get it right this time. Feel the heat already?

Drink up more then. Try not to fall sick worr.

Anyway, I want to thk Liang Ee and Shalini for being my printers :D And Gran for a phone call I make with his phone and for sparing my life. Heeheee...

OH! And not to forget, THANK U to all teachers who are concerned with our mental health and studies. Heeeeheee =)

Also, this will be my last post under this pseudonym (of MISS LEE jr) due to complains of false alarms and hurt feeelings. Sorry to those who are unfortunately affected. I'll be a nice monkey next time. So, there. Hold those bananas. And if some of you think I should continue with this pseudonym, please sign a petition.

ok, gotta cut da crap. must prepare for HISTORY "test".

A song dedication (My Chemical Romance's FAMOUS LAST WORDS)to all my monkeys in 3709. "If you don't like it, so be it."HEEEHEEHEE xD

Literature - work for next week

Hi all,

Here are some instructions that were given to me along with the survey forms:

1) Paper 1 Pair Presentations are to be pushed back by one lesson. In other words, we're beginning during the second lesson next week. Hopefully that gives ample time to prepare? The first lesson will be given over to wrapping up the Temptation versus Oblivion contrast and discussions of the pair poems.

2) For Paper 5: prepare some research and notes (in your Paper 5 journals, please) on the poems Cinderella and Lady Lazarus. Deadline is the next Paper 5 tutorial.

~~~~~~~~~~
Also, as promised to the remedial folks, here's the poems to focus on for the coming sessions:
Week 5: Like as the waves...
Week 6: The Time of Year versus Death Be Not Proud.
~~~~~~~~~~
That's all folks; have a good weekend ahead!

(P.S. DON'T forget your Emerging vs I Wake To Feel [...] assignment!)

Yours,
Penny ^_^

Literature housekeeping matters

Hi all!

Just to recap the Lit announcements:

1) Paper 1 Assignment:
Compare and contrast Emerging by R.S. Thomas with I Wake And Feel The Fell Of Dark, Not Day by G.M. Hopkins. Consider carefully the way religion is presented through each poet's language, form and style.
DEADLINE: end of this week (noon, Friday 17 April).

2) Pair Presentation
- begins T2W5 (next week! *gasp*); WILL be graded
- After each presentation, each pair will work on feedback given and submit ONE written essay on the pair of poems presented (it's pair work, and marks will be given. It also counts towards the term's assignment quota.)

TO DO:
- form pairs and sign up for poems by end of this week. I have the sign-up sheet (with the list of poems) so do approach me about this. The ones who sign up for the Week 5 poems MUST begin their work on the presentation.
- Prepare your presentation offline and prepare notes / templates for presentation.
- Make a copy of your presentation notes for the whole class!

3) Remedial
The people who are down for remedial beginning this Friday are Yiling, Rachel, Anna, Vaish, Bryan, Pang Yi and Zuhaili. The first four are to go for the 12.15pm slot while the remaining three go for the 1.15pm slot. (And boys, there'll be someone from another class in your slot; make sure to involve her in the discussions, if any.) Remember: attendance will be taken.

4) Supplementary lessons
In Week 5 and 7; venue to be determined. All who scored 8 or 9 or below for the Forsaken Wife assignment are to attend; the invitation is open to others as well. The focus is on issues relating to Women in Literature for the tutorial passages done in class.
- Passages for Week 5: The Forsaken Wife, Emily of Emerald Hill
- Passages for Week 7: Girl, The Story of an Hour

Yep, that's about it. Please bear these in mind ^_^

See you in school tomorrow!
Penny

P.S. On another note, I just changed the time zone settings for the blog, so now it's in Singapore time :)

tie-boy,out.

Update.

Hey, guys! Hope family day was a blast for you! I know it was to my feet :X
Anywhoo, this post is actually to update you guys on HOMEWORK. So I'm just gonna get down to it(:

HOMEWORK DUE TOMORROW:

- Math Review 2 (do as much as possible, I suppose)
- MT hw
- Complete the worksheet on honor for GP
- 'Girl' for Lit (submit online).

Yep. That should be it for tmrw.

However, we still have to finish the extensive PW research on ONE sub-topic (eg: conservation -> buildings -> Taj Mahal) and History tutorial FIVE by Wednesday.

For Econs, I think we have to re-write our essay outlines back into the WS given, but I'm not too sure. Will check with Miss Lee and get back to you(: We also have to finish the 'Elasticity of Demand' WS for Econs. Yep(:

That's all on hw!
Have a good 'holiday'!

wah.

Pakistani men. Why they like that. So evil. Smear the name of men. What will happen to righteous, truly honorable guys in our class? We are not like that! And yet, now i live perpetually in fear of Shalini for she seems unnaturally happy about a girl stabbing her boyfriend 46 times.

SOMEONE in our class should watch out. Z... ahem.

Stabby Stab Stab.

Eh, family day. Monkey girl suggested we have dinner together after it, for those who didn't hear just now. Uh.

Oh, and the canceled Econs lesson just now will be made up for in week 5. Miss LXL had to meet the evaluators so she couldn't make it, in case you were wondering about why it was canceled.

And I love Vincent. If you are in support of us, please tag! <3

Pedro's crazy ideas for Family Day

HEY YOU CRAZY KIDS!

Pedro has a stinking wild idea bound to make people throw their shoes at him.

he needs....
-a bamboo pole at least 1.2m long.
-brown (light brown) duct tape.
-black (superstrong) duct tape.
-ALL your stinking old newspapers that have no use since they're too old for GP.

From there, we can wrap the newspaper along the pole and use the strong tape to make sure its fastened. Pedro will demo himself when the time comes. Finally, after everything, we will bundle and cover up all the newspaper with the brownish duct tape to give it a semi-satay color. Warning, this color may be unglam, due to the reflections which the brown duct tape may produce when exposed to light. Another option is that we use masking tape to wrap the newspaper and (spam) paint it...

any brighter ideas//suggestions? Please tell us asap. Our time is running out.

3rd session - Shalini, Yin Wei, HanXu, Rachel & Pang Yi

Pedro's CopyPasta//Rambling 2

From some deep, dark corner in the back of jaalin’s mind…

Anime girls are the best. Unlike those found in 3d-land, anime girls were created for the sole purpose of entertaining me – decades in the making, the science of creating an anime girl has been perfected down to the little personality quirks, the glimmer in their eyes, and the nuances in their voice (Aisia lisp, anyone?) I thank these character designers from the bottom of my heart, cuz man oh man do they do their job well.

In most cases, anime girls are perfect. Understanding that “perfect” has many interpretations as the modern anime girl is assembled from a plethora of desirable traits, the one aspect that rarely varies is the shape of their body. Sure, there are differences in height and cup size, but for the most part, there is a singular template on which all bodies are constructed from.

You know my favorite part of it? It’s not the stunning neckline or the way clothes hang so lustfully off the bosom, nor their sculpted stomachs or their itty bitty waist. Those are all fantastic, but they all pale in comparison to none other than:

The ankles. Goddamn, anime chicks have the best freakin ankles.

Remember that that one scene in Densha Otoko where they go to Miina’s fan session, and Matsunaga-shi kept screaming for Miina to show her ankles? I thought that was the weirdest thing, but it kinda makes sense now. Kinda.

Why ankles?

For starters, it’s not something that’s in the common list of attractive traits, but when you ask specifically, most people would come to a consensus on an attractive ankle. It is, after all, the area where the long, shapely legs meet the petite, delicate foot – quite a special area that holds very little sexual appeal and yet is a crucial component of an attractive character. Without the ankles, you can’t have sexy legs!

For example, take that pic of Nagi. Normally known for her loli appeal, this pic makes her out to be so much more. Sure, most of the attention is on the place that allows our imagination to run, but it’s those ankles that are right there and complete the look. They are, fundamentally, what give those spectacular legs their slender shape.

Anime ankle science takes this a step further – custom-fit shoes. Notice how Nagi’s shoes have a strap right above the ankle? While not absolutely necessary, this plays an important role in accentuating the slenderness of the ankle by essentially having it squeeze through something. Another great example of this is seen on Mashiro-hime, another character not typically associated with sexual appeal, but oh man does she have hot legs in that pic. And it’s all due to the slender achilles area bringing out the supple shape of the calf area. Even Nia-sweetie with all the attention on her eyes and hair, sports a pair of shoes complete with ankle strap. And don’t forget Aoi-chan in the only time we’ve seen her wearing something other than that adorable kimono - never mind that she’s only got 4 toes (oh shi-?)

One more piece of evidence comes from Geass, where Villetta is flashing her own breathtaking set. As amazing as they look, don’t they seem to pale in comparison to the other examples above? In comparison, Villetta’s legs look unnaturally straight, unrealistic, and while extremely long, rather unshapely.

The Anklet Hypothesis can also apply to wrists, as so brilliantly demonstrated by Tsukasa in this pic. Doesn’t her arm look so much more slender with that bracelet?

So there you have it, my attempt at turning an ankle fetish into a science. Sounds like some bastardized male version of Lucky Star…

-jaalin

He's got hell of a problem, but pedro approves. What's a man without desire? What's life without ankles!? Whats up with this fetish of pedro's?!?!? Let's leave it at that. Post from Random Curiosity. Be careful next time pedro stares at your feet, your wrist, or your collarbones.

On a side note, the whole class has got to do the forfeits for literature in the form of homework. It's on the lit website, under 'The Gaze', for the Wheelchair Assassins, cause we lost the bloodbath. For the Howling Fantods, you'll have to do the followup on the Mrs Mallard passage. *EDITED*

Pedro's Big Bad Ramble...1

DON'T YOU DARE GIMME A 'C' FOR MY O' LVL ART!!!!

well, so much for that, i got the big c6 for it. my teacher said it wuz coz' of my choice of 'style'. The stylistiks just don't follow the way you want to portra your godlike idea or the inspiration that has flooded into your head seconds ago. Which leads me to think...

-Pedro wants to know why art has to be liked and disliked. freedom please.
-Pedro does not know why despite this he is biased against some forms of art.
-Pedro wants to know how art is graded. How can it? Seriously...
-Pedro wants to know why ankles are sooo sexy.

So here goes with the supermassive ramble....

What the heck is with 'pushing the boundaries' of art if you have bias agaist some styles of it? I may sound like a hypocrite, but it's true. Some of us shoot down genres of music//drama//dance//art in general// because we just don't like it, and give our reasons. But that doesn't mean art is not equal to freedom of thought. A radical piece which subverts and addresses issues people deem dangerous or uses styles that are not widely accepted is still art, regardless of the criticism it receives....

I pose this question.

Iz dis art!?Looks like a math diagram, doesn't it? Avante garde (USSR) smashing the white population (USA) with a red wedge.

Looks like some random brush strokes, yeah?

These are avant-garde pieces: Radical Russian Art, as the Brits sometimes call it. And it is in some places (especially Britain), not recognized as art. So much for the wonder artsy society they have. We can then see that art is published as a very big action. A call to the world and society for a stronge message. Freedom for expression is given, but appreciation is a differing matter altogether. There're many more movements such as the rennaissance, expressionism and cubism, but the same concept applies, though they are less criticized.

e.g. this is more approved of.

Roy Lichenstein's pop art. Kinda like marvel comics? Stylistik and funky.

Much more to think about the free flow and expression of ideas. The newer generation though, is opening up to all these weeeeird genres (and more) that i may (or may not) have addressed. So let's have a mix between pop art, avant-garde, abstract styles, and independant rock!

Finally, Pedro's ramble on ankles will be out next week. Stay hip and funky people! 3709 is a sporting bunch as seen from today, so let's stay that way!

Cheers and lotsa love to sombreros.

Pedro's rambling.

Heya all.

It's me, the one commonly known as pedro.
feeling random, i was thinking of something to do, to bring out all kinds of weird ideas about modern art and to just express my love and hate for some forms of art//or what you might perceive as art. think of it as a form of low-art -appreciation or a failed literature lesson. I'll only post about once a week so as to prevent cluttering up our reminders and homework notices...I'll try to keep it really open and random, or things we can relate to, which we commonly provide jabberwocky about in school, just to add a little life on the blog apart from homework and reminders to bring a particular consent form you'd definitely forget to bring tomorrow and just happen to forget and leave on your bedside ust to step on it or crush it in the morn-.
Oops. Rambling aldy.

Do you mind? If you do i'd better not ramble. D= . Seriously.

we have found the ava rep..
thanks, VINCENT :)

TIMETABLE :)

I logged on to SchoolBuzz lately, and under the 'Timetable' section, there was a new timetable for all of us. However, I don't think there's much of a difference from the old one. In fact, I don't think there's a difference in time slots at all :/ What a waste of database space.

So, these are the stuff that we have to hand in tmrw:

* GP (Please, please, please remember that there are SIX articles in TOTAL. NOT FOUR.)
* Hist (T4)
*Math (Quiz.)
*Lit (Page 21 of Miss Toh's reading package.)

That's all we need to hand in for tmrw. Econs comes later.
